Include more fruits and vegetables that will boost the immune system. Citrus fruits like lemons, limes, oranges, papaya, kiwi contain vitamin C which is believed to increase the production of white blood cells which help to fight infections. Veggies like red bell pepper & spinach also contain vitamin C, broccoli is packed with A, C, E and fibres plus antioxidants. Include spices like ginger, garlic, turmeric, cinnamon etc. and nuts & seeds like almonds, walnuts, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds etc. Make them avoid junk foods as much as possible.

Make exercise part of a daily routine: Keeping your kids active with exercise can work wonders when combined with a good diet & sleep and help boost immunity. Regular exercise can boost natural killer cells and help to fight against viral infections. You can make your kids have fun by making them play active games.

Sleeping on time & completing sleep hours: A good night sleep is very important as it helps repair the body. Completing sleep hours is essential but sleeping on time is even more necessary. Encourage your kids to sleep early or as per their sleep hour requirements. Preschoolers require around 12 hrs of sleep and older kids require around 8hrs. Lack of sleep can weaken your kids’ immune systems.

Help reduce stress & anxiety: Stress & anxiety in kids can lead to sickness. Kids shouldn’t be pressurised with their studies, they should have enough free time for themselves to have fun and relax at the same time.
